A lot of words I could read, but I have to admit that the paper I read today was easy. It was a review on my field and the part I read was the introduction. However, this kind of material is something I am thinking of reading from today. The point is, I am going to read something I can understand or require small nontrivial logical step, to avoid thinking time during my reading routine. There are 2 reasons for this. First, I can measure my reading speed more precisely, because there will be no time in 10 minutes that I stop reading lines. From now on, I will meaure my bare reading time. Second, I want to see how my reading speed increases by accumulating knowledge little by little. Ideally, there should be a continuous route towards understanding very difficult idea if we could identify what I should read until we reach that knowledge. I believe, the speed reading technique is not how you read, but how much background knowledge before you read certain material. Therefore, I will concentrate on choosing suitable reading materials in order to reach the horizon in my knowledge space.
